Episode 5
Recollection
- Maewnam is struggling with the whole "my family's business is my not-yet-girlfriend's enemy" thing and she avoids telling Wan
- The Mouse Mart should be open by the end of the month
- Wan is in debt by 450,000 Thai Baht (~$14,000 USD) from inheriting her father's house-store and could lose it if she can't make enough to make the payments
- Tonnam is having an even worst time now with her hurt feelings because she's getting frustrated with Chom cozying up to Manmuk (now they're fighting)
- Manmuk knows that Maewnam's family owns Mouse Mart (and that makes me concerned)
- Mouse Mart Guy is cozying up to Wan and it's making me feel uneasy
- Maewnam is still flirty as ever with Wan
- Tonnam and Chom fight at the group dinner and Tonnam leaves (NOOOOOO)
- Turns out Manmuk and Wan are exes of the bitter kind
- Manmuk tells Wan that Maewnam is the Mouse Mart Heiress and now Wan's hurt and avoiding Maewnam (DAMN YOU, MANMUK)
- Maewnam still leaves Wan gifts (my hearttt)
- Mouse Mart Guy fixes Wan's faucet (not a euphemism) and I hate him for taking that role from Maewnam
- Manmuk is shady and two-faced
- Tonnam and Chom reconcile (YESSSSSSSS)
- Mouse Mart Guy thought Wan was hitting on him and then goes all "nice guy" when she turns him down, but thankfully Maewnam kicks and chases him off (Fuck you, Mouse Mart Guy)
- Maewnam and Wan reconcile, Wan tells Maewnam that she hit "full marks", and now they're girlfriends!!!
So, I'd like to give a big "thanks" to episode five for hurting me in such a varied manner of ways. Manmuk could've been the cold but warming co-worker, but instead she's the two-faced and bitter ex. Mouse Mart Guy could've been an ally or friendly rival, but nope, he's gotta be a creepy nice guy who tries to assault Wan. Our favourite not-so-secret couple could've worked tougher to confront Chom's Mom, but noooooooo, instead they need to fight and then be sad until they make up. You just had to throw in a debt issue too, didn't you? Curse you, episode five, curse you. Also fuck you, Mouse Mart Guy. I hope the character never shows up on screen again (props to the actor, Louis, though).
Also, bless you, episode five. You've given us the confirmation of Maewnam and Wan. This does not fix everything else you've done...but reparations are reparations. Now, they better stay a confirmed thing and have no more of this avoidant business. The whole Mouse Mart Heiress thing is out already, so what else could they have to divide them. Speaking of, my bad, folks. I thought her family was just in the marketing or tangential side of things; Nope. They are in fact the tried and true owners even though Maewnam doesn't involve herself.
It sucks that Wan is also now saddled with the mortgage on the house-store now that her father has passed. It can never just be one thing, huh? Her dad dies and now she has to deal with her grief, running the store, and not losing it all in the same space. Hold strong, Wan!
Manmuk, what the hell is your damage? What in the world could have possibly happened between these two? Why are you so shady???
I really, really hope Tonnam and Chom finally confront her mother about things. I also really, really hope that her mother isn't actually as against it as Chom fears she'll be. I don't want this wedge to keep pushing them around. I just want my girls to be happy...
