Midnight on Memory Lane

{Taffy Tuesday #2} Thank you, Internet!

Hello, Internet, and good mornight to you all!

My name is Taffryne, shoppekeeper of Midnight on Memory Lane, and it is my absolute delight to welcome you to the second Taffy Tuesday!

'Tis my pleasure, 'tis an honour indeed.

For this Taffy Tuesday, I wanted to take you behind the counter for a moment and sincerely express my gratitude.

You see, as part of the Bear Blogger's Dashboard, there's an "Analytics" tab that shows you a brief snapshot of data surrounding your blog. You can read more about it here. Within these stats, there's a counter for your "Unique Visitors" (how many uniquely identified people have been to your blog) and "Unique Reads" (how many times a unique visitor has read a unique post).

At the time of me writing this post, we're only 15 posts deep and 2 weeks into me actually maintaining this blog when I'm not busy at the shoppe. Yet, we have already surpassed 100 Unique Reads and have welcomed more than 50 Unique Visitors. Quite frankly, that feels unbelievable to me. I know that the internet is a vast place with millions of users and that the Bear Blog community is well active, but...something about being told that that many actual other people have been to my blog, read something, and maybe even came back just...hits different, for lack of a better phrase.

I've already had to involve the Office of Delays and Double-Features three times now alongside various other tweaks and learning curves. I'm still figuring out how I want to format the blogs, how to get communication channels and a Guest Book setup, heck I'm still trying to figure out the best way to start incorporating photos into the posts. Don't even get me started on how complex the lore-drop and long-term side of my planning is going.

Despite all that, amidst my chaos and naivety, there you are. The Readers of the Internet. You're taking the time out of your existence to make your way into my little corner and engage with my thoughts and sentiments. Personally, I think that our time and our emotions are the most valuable currency we have in our lives. Sure, money exists, but money can trade hands/wallets/accounts infinitely. Pardon the dramatics, but, the sand from your lifespan's hourglass can't go back up nor can the feelings from your soul be rewound. Every time one of you makes your way here, you are giving me an irrevocable part of your memory (something I handle with care everyday at the shoppe), and that is a humbling feeling unlike any other.

You'll have to pardon me if this post is too poetically waxing. I just wanted to take the opportunity while this blog is still an infant to the digital realm to say "Thank you". I sincerely, wholeheartedly thank you all for any amount of consideration you've bestowed upon me. Writing this blog is my pleasure, and receiving your attention is an honour.

I truly do hope that we'll continue to gather here in the midnight. I have so many plans and dreams for what I wish for this blog to become. September is when I hope to have our mutual communication networks (a Guest Book and email or comments option; ideally) up and running. If any of you continue to grant me the gift of checking back in, I'll be looking forward to reading your voices.

Thank you, Internet. May we meet again when the clock strikes 12:00!
