Episode 4 ~ There's More to a Wolf Than Meets The Eye

Recollection

"SORA AND YUNA'S MY-THADVENTURES STARTED LONG AGO! HOW'LL THEY PROTECT THE FATHER-DAUGHTER PROMISE? WOLF POWER!"

Okay, so a Fukashigi attacked the family car, killed her parents, and also presumably the driver? Was the driver his actual dad? "Pops" just kind of shows up out of nowhere, so he might not be his actual, actual father, right??? Further, the strange purple shockwave pulse...was that Yuna getting entwined with the belt??? So many questions...

I think the Fukashigi's split power was really clever! I wish we had more exposition about the WOLF FRAME though. The power of the full-moon being required to take off the literal muzzle of it's jaws was a super cool thought! I suppose the inclusion of it just felt a bit lack-luster compared to the turtle? Then again, Otosumi has already been doing this long enough to know the quirks of each animal, so in a way it makes sense for him to treat this as a very unremarkable thing. Honestly? I'm just so curious about how this whole animal exchanging business works. He's clearly the most atuned to the mouse, but he can still stack others on top of it? Can the other riders do that too?

T/N: Small note; If the WOLF FRAME's power is the bitey mouth...then what would a shark do?

Tatsuomi, you clever bastard. I'm sorry you got your belt *(well, DATT's belt, but...) taken away. On the bright side, and I say this legitimately, what a solid plan he's got! It prolongs his exposure to Yuna and Otosumi, whilst also giving him a completely reasonable explanation for prodding further into the Fukashigi matters. Otosumi, I hate to say it bud, but you kind of brought this upon yourself. It's only the fourth episode, yet Tatsuomi has been involved in the defeat of the Fukashigi THREE times already! I get that the first one wasn't exactly planned, but c'mon. You dragged that man out to an abandoned warehouse with specialty speakers to defeat a monster!!! Even if he weren't secretly an apprentice to the 12 Animals, it's a natural consequence that his interest would get piqued.

Kamuri, I still love you and your menacing cat-toy. When you do get personally involved, Kamuri?!?!

Also, I repeat, WHO IS THIS MAN WHO JUST SHOWED UP AT THE CAR WRECK AND NOW GIVES THEM SOUVENIRS???

Episode 5 Preview

"WHAT SNAKES OR DOGS MAY COME! DIG DEEP, VANKEN! DOG RIDER! SNAKES ARE ENJYAOWED WITH A VERY LONG TAIL!"

OH?!?!? JYAO AND DOG!??!?! YUNA IS IN DANGER!?!? AHH?!?

T/N: en...enjyaowed??? I mean, sure it works???

The Questioning Queries

  1. What're your thoughts on the WOLF FRAME?
  2. Which of the 12 Animals are you most excited to see next?
  3. Do you think Otosumi has always liked cheese this much???

Thanks for Reading!

I hope you've been able to watch and experience the story for yourself!

If you haven't seen it yet, that's okay too! My thoughts are here to keep you updated and entertained in the meantime.

That'll be the end of this week's gathering for Tokusatsu Thursday, so off into the nighttime we go!

I hope you'll come back for the next Sunday Midnight Book Club! We'll be starting two new books: Mazywood and The Sign of the Four!

May we always meet at Midnight!
