Idol I: Episode 7 {Watch Party Wednesday #5-KD}

As the title of this post says, we're going to be talking about the seventh episode of the K-drama, Idol I.
I humbly present my thoughts for your enjoyment and consideration. Accordingly, please mind that there will be spoilers ahead!

Episode 7
Recollection
- La-ik's found Se-na's fan stash, feels incredibly betrayed (understandable, he was), and runs off
- Se-na was going to throw it all away to remain objective, but there was too much sentimental value tied to her happy moments (as a sentimental myself, I really do get it)
- La-ik finds out Young-bin quit and left the dorm to go home and get away from it all
- Jae-hee is now missing and unable to be contacted which leads La-ik to consent to an interrogation with the Prosecutor without counsel present (they also hint at suspecting him of murdering Jae-hee)
- La-ik fires Se-na as his defense attorney
- Se-na calls out Mr. Prosecutor for his Pride Complex and his corruptive practices, just like his father
- Se-na meets with Hye-joo to transfer over the case files she has for La-ik's new legal team
- Young-bin has no info on the whereabouts of Jae-hee
- Se-na finally throws away her La-ik merch while grieving La-ik's presence in her life (including the hat he gave her all those years ago)
- Mr. Prosecutor won't listen to his partner and issue a warrant for Jae-hee as a suspect because he doesn't want his biased investigation to be exposed as a biased investigation
- Jae-hee calls Mr. CEO to confront him about knowing that Woo-seong was behind the secret solo contract and not La-ik
- La-ik refuses the lawyer Hye-joo sets up for him and rejects her again
- Flashback to Se-na and Mr. Informant having a weird bond over visiting their dead relatives in the same columbarium which eventually becomes a bond over her defending him in court and him living in the basement/room/place
- Se-na pours herself into her work for ungodly hours to cope with her upset
- Se-na's boss reveals more context about Gold Entertainment knowing that Woo-seong was betraying the company and urges Se-na to tell La-ik
- La-ik non-maliciously stalks drunk Se-na one night while both of them are in a whirlwind of "what do I do now" which leads to La-ik refusing Se-na's call, but in turn sees her play the piano, sing his fan song, and miraculously makes it home
- La-ik finds the hat in the bags that Se-na threw out, realizes that she's the girl from way back then, and takes it
- Se-na missed a call from Jae-hee and hasn't heard the voicemail yet
- Hye-joo and her father fight over her obsession with La-ik, her father's meddling in their original relationship, and the hurt she feels in being the Mistress' Child
- Jae-hee's car was found crashed offroad and he's now in the hospital unconscious
- La-ik goes to Se-na's house, sits upset in the rain, and then passes out when she finds him
T/N: There is no rest in Idol I episodes, my word...
Se-naaa!!! What were you doing!!! I know your emotions were high and it's a lot to deal with but you work in the high pressure environment of the court room!!! YES, you would have defended him (literally your job and passion). I'm glad you didn't lie or try to cover things up and make it worse but...ughhhh, that SUCKED!!! I wish she could've just told him from the start, but who knows what he would've done in that case! It's so messed up.
The scene of her specifically asleep on the floor with everything spread out and the cooking stuff still on the table...it looks like a murder scene. In a way, it was, wasn't it? The murder of her lie and the idea of the person La-ik thought she was. I hate this plot point so much. I knew it was going to happen, but I still hate it. It's like the ending of Assassination Classroom (I will never be able to rewatch or reread that series). You've never been misled about how it ends, but you trick yourself into thinking it could go some other way.
La-ik...I'm so sorry. You are being stabbed and crossed every which way. Murder accusation, best friend gets murdered, group members think you're a murderer, the one person you thought was truly your ally betrayed you, your mother is just all around awful...the list never ends for you. Now here you are, with your hate-friend bandmate in the hospital from a car crash while you night-stalk your ex-prosecutor/"friend". It's to the point that I feel like him passing out after running to the hospital was almost a mercy from the script. Like a strange reprieve granted by The Fates.
I feel like Hye-joo is going to try and offer to find their wedding officiant and wet nurse at this rate. GIRL, MOVE ON AND LET HIM GO!
For the record, I still despise Mr. Prosecutor. What a prick. I would've sent that elevator down and then called another one just to match his pettiness. Mr. "I don't want my biased case to be exposed as a biased case because then it makes me look bad for being biased which I am". You're so poisoned by whatever the hell your father has made you that you don't even realize the corruption you bring to the table. If only they had trophies for such prideful incompetence as yours.
Mr. Informant, I'm concerned for you. You have care towards her that she won't return in the same level and it's bothering you and please do not lose your cool. We have lost too much cool with everyone in this cast already. It's sweet that she gave you the milk caramel and then keeps the jar in your room stocked and she clearly concerns herself with your wellbeing. Just...I beg of you to accept she doesn't want the same as you and to be okay with that (especially since her and La-ik are bound to get back on good terms).
Episode 7 Preview
I'm happy that La-ik and Se-na are gonna come back together, but honestly? I JUST WANNA KNOW WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING??? WHAT IS ON THAT VOICEMAIL? WHAT DOES MR. CEO KNOW? WHO IS TRYING TO KILL AN IDOL GROUP AND WHY???
If it turns out Young-bin is somehow the mastermind behind all of this, I'm gonna lose it.
