Idol I: Episode 12 ~ FINALE {Watch Party Wednesday #9-KD}

My name is Taffryne, shoppekeeper of Midnight on Memory Lane, and it is my absolute delight to welcome you to the second of two KD-type posts for this week's gathering of Watch Party Wednesday!

As the title of this post says, we're going to be talking about the twelfth and finale episode of the K-drama, Idol I.
I humbly present my thoughts for your enjoyment and consideration. Accordingly, please mind that there will be spoilers ahead!

Episode 12
Recollection
- Mr. Informant is opening his own detective-for-hire business
- Se-na's boss gives her the files for her father's case so she can investigate and win a retrial herself
- Se-na finally confesses to her legal secretary that she's a Goldy with a La-ik bias...the secretary already knew from her own Goldy-ness
- Hye-joo ends up being sentenced to a Psychiatric Ward instead of traditional prison
- Mr. Prosecutor has a fluffier haircut now to signal that he's grown into a better person
- La-ik works on the world tour with Jae-hee and Young-bin while Se-na works for the retrial of her father's case
- Mr. Prosecutor leaves his father to face his own corruption case, apologizes to his investigator, and transfers to a regional office to be by his Mother who's in a care facility
- La-ik comes to the courthouse with a massive bouquet to congratulate Se-na on being granted her petition for retrial
- The Stalker Duo have turned into an Anti-Paparazzi Duo
- Se-na takes La-ik to see her parent's urns and he formally introduces himself and promises to make Se-na happy
- Se-na tries to give La-ik a little kiss goodnight, but that quickly devolves into a kiss overnight (if ya know)
- La-ik learns first-hand rejection when Se-na goes fan-mode to secure limited merch, but wins her attention back with a concert ticket
- La-ik finally gets to make Se-na the bibimbap
- La-ik and Mr. Informant still have the bickering siblingship and it's still adorable
- The Gold Boys and Mr. CEO go to Woo-seong's grave to pay their respects and have a nice heart-to-heart
- The Gold Boys are under their own company now
- La-ik has Mr. Informant give his mother a ticket to his upcoming concert
- Turns out the best-friend fan account that Se-na knew was her Secretary...yet another bonding moment for these two!
- Gold Boys have a festival concert with tributes to Woo-seong while Se-na flashbacks through everything that's happpened
God, I needed this episode so much after everything that's happened in the past 11. Everything was so fluffy and healinggg!!!
I have nothing further to say to Hye-joo or Mr. Prosecutor Sr.
To the now Anti-Paparazzi Duo, uhm, good choice? Yeah, good on you two for making a "Privacy Protection Squad"! I'm still concerned about the implications of this...but I mean, hey, lesser evil for sure!!!
Mr. Informant, I might still refuse to use your name, but congratulations on your detective business!!! I hope you get lots of work and a good reputation for efforts! I'm happy that you and La-ik can still have your bickering whatever-you-call-that. Congrats for also knowing that Se-na is a person with her own autonomy!!!
Mr. Prosecutor, good. Go away. Leave your father to face the music and keep rocking the soft haircut. Redemption is slow, but forgiving. I still wanna slap you though.
Jae-hee and Young-bin, congrats on making it out of this, you two. I'm glad you're repairing your relationships and still able to be on the stage! It's also really sweet that the three of you visit Woo-seong's grave and were able to publish his songs.
Also, good on you Mr. Manager for sticking with the boys. I've not always been a fan of you, but you do seem to legitimately care for their well-being. Ergo, I tip my hat. Just a little. Ya know what? A little tip of the hat to Mr. CEO, too. Do I like him? Still no. But I can acknowledge that somewhere in his twisted brain, he does have an affection for them. He did let them go and keep their name, after all.
To La-ik and Se-na, god, I'm just so happy for you two!!! You both have been through so much absolute misery and awfulness. I'm really glad you were able to find each other and heal through it all. I'm overjoyed that both of you can continue your careers whilst also having your dating life whilst also again indulging in Se-na's fangirling! So sweet, so cute, agh, my heart!!!
The scene of her fangirling about merch and him offering to just give her some was so darling and hilarious, my word. He doesn't understand the struggle, hehe! I'd happily be baited with a concert ticket though...
Series Reflection
I really, really fucking loved this series. A LOT. An enormous amount, did I like this series. Everything about it was absolutely incredible. The sweet moments, the heartbreaking moments. Anger, sadness, disgust. It made me feel those things with such a strong potency. I loved the development and growth of the characters. I adored their dynamics with each other. I appreciate how everything, once explained of course, made sense and fit what we were shown! Just, holy smokes, what a top notch series. The emotions, the sentiments, the everything. Absolutely now one of my favourite K-dramas of all time. I'm so, so thankful that we watched this one!!!
