Idol I: Episode 10 {Watch Party Wednesday #8-KD}

My name is Taffryne, shoppekeeper of Midnight on Memory Lane, and it is my absolute delight to welcome you to the KD-type post for this week's gathering of Watch Party Wednesday!

As the title of this post says, we're going to be talking about the tenth episode of the K-drama, Idol I.

I humbly present my thoughts for your enjoyment and consideration. Accordingly, please mind that there will be spoilers ahead!

Episode 10

Recollection

• In response to La-ik's confession, Se-na gets flustered and says she feels confused, so La-ik says he'll wait as long as it takes until she's ready
• Behind closed doors, both of them are flustered, panicked, and tangled in emotions
• A scary shadow person was watching them...
• La-ik is gone the next morning and left a heartfelt note saying that he's leaving her house to face his reality and to thank her for encouraging him to take back his life (he'll be waiting for her answer in the meantime)
• La-ik moves back to his condo while Se-na is having a STRONG feelings crisis about her former bias confessing to her
• La-ik goes to visit Jae-hee in the hospital since the outlook for his recovery is grim
• Mr. Prosecutor (derogatory) urges his boss to let him indict La-ik on both the murder and attempted murder charges
• An article exposing that La-ik was staying at Se-na's house gets published which causes an avalanche of PR and legal issues
• Turns out the article was written by the scorned tabloid author from before who's going on a rampage against La-ik and Se-na, so he also exposes Se-na publicly for being the daughter of a murderer which causes more protests
• Se-na confesses that she was a fan of La-ik and that's why she took this case to her boss
• Mr. Informant tries to stop La-ik from going to Se-na, but he does anyway and saves her from having a light stick tossed at her head by the stalker girls
• Se-na yells at La-ik for getting involved, but La-ik pleads with her to let him handle things this time and takes her out to a staycation cabin in the woods to eat and breathe (and also flirt)
• La-ik and Se-na have a vulnerable heart-to-heart about Se-na's trauma from her father's conviction and everything that's happened
• Se-na and La-ik have their first kiss!!! (and then many more)
• Mr. Prosecutor officially goes forward with the charges (LIKE A CORRUPTED DUMBASS), so Se-na jumpes right into Defense Attorney Mode
• Se-na and La-ik review the phone call between the CEO and Woo-seong and hear the keypad going off in the background which helps their case alongside the report from Jae-hee's car
• La-ik admits to not-stalking-but-stalking Se-na the night that Jae-hee's car went off road because he missed her (then he plays coy with her about missing him)
• La-ik sees an earring in the evidence photos that is apparently supposed to be in his safe which means he thinks he knows who came into his apartment that day
• Jae-hee is waking up?!?!?

Se-na slapping the papers over the heart skribbles on her desk...my word, woman, you're SWOONED hehe. Also, neither of these two have ANY kind of poker face post-confession. Not her strict defense attorney facade, nor his many years of idol PR training can save these two from becoming absolutely adorable, bumbling fools around each other. Someone edit these two with the e-girl blush and otome roses already.

Also, La-ik, my god man. You are such a cat-who-got-the-cream anytime Se-na admits her fondness for you. His little morning coffee quip and the teasing. She might be swooned, but he is fully in his ken-phase. He's so happy that she likes him back ahehe.

Mr. Informant...there's always still a chance, but I appreciate that you aren't becoming a "nice guy" over the whole Se-na x La-ik deal. I think you're still a bit hurt and you still don't like La-ik, but you're not letting it get in the way of your relationship with her. A tip of my non-existent hat to you. Please stay this way.

Hye-jooooooooo. I don't like that you keep popping uppppppppp. On one hand you could be the most obnoxious red herring but on the other hand it seems like they really want me to think of you as the murdererrrrr. Agghhhhh. WHY HYE-JOO WHY?!?!

La-ik visiting Jae-hee and playing his favourite song for him was so sweet. Now that he's apparently going to be waking up, I really hope they reconcile. I know that lots of comatose people are able to be aware of their surroundings and remember it after they wake up, so I wonder if he will. Speaking of, we've not seen much of Young-bin. And by much I mean at all. I know he's laying low in his hometown, but...my concerns rise.

I just...I wanna know what the hell happened here!!! Who killed Woo-seong? How did Jae-hee end up in that car accident. Why were both La-ik and Jae-hee spiked with something? What are all of these pieces of the puzzle and what even is the puzzle!?

Mr. Prosecutor, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SUCH AN OBSTINATE ASSHATT??? My dude, disrespectfully, there is TOO MUCH AMBIGUITY in this case!!! You've not investigated damn near anything as much as you should've. You've let your morally-bankrupt father, of all people, talk you into compromising your ethical duties as a prosecutor. Then, on top of all of that, you are letting your fragile, tantrum-throwing PRIDE lead your judgement rather than logic. There's no defending you here. You really wanna make this bed that bad??? Fine. Lay in it.

Shoutout to Mr. Scummy Reporter dude. You suck too.
